There’s much to do in Kernersville as we celebrate Independence Day, commonly known as the fourth of July.
We will begin celebrating Thursday June 26, when the Chamber of Commerce presents the very popular Music At Twilight. This concert will be held in the Town Hall Courtyard. Performing their famous Jazz Music will be the East Forsyth Jazz Band. The evening will also recognize our veteran’s. Come enjoy great music, classic car show and more. The concert will begin at 6:00 to 8:00p.m.
Friday June 27 the Kernersville Parks and Recreation will present the movie “Frozen” in Harmon Park (Which sits directly across the street from Harmon House Events Center.)This is a great family event so bring a lawn chair or blanket and come for an evening of fun. Food vendors will be on site. Movie starts at dusk.
Saturday June 28 you will want to bring your children downtown to “Miss Mary’s Parade”. This is a patriotic celebration for young children. Dress them in red white and blue and watch them as they wave their flags, sing patriotic songs and enjoy this ever popular children’s parade. Again this celebration will be held in the Town Court yard.
On the Fourth of July, be sure to make plans to attend the annual Fourth of July Parade. The parade will begin at 9:00a.m. at Kernersville Elementary School and travel down Mountain Street. Beginning at 6:30 p.m. there will be a concert in the field behind the school and the annual fireworks display will begin at dusk. Come join us as we celebrate our Nation’s Independence Day! Happy Fourth of July!
